There seems to be a problem serving the request at this time. There is a varied range of fishing tools and paraphernalia available for fishing enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The earliest evidence of glass floats actually being used by fishermen comes from Norway in where glass floats were on gill nets in the great cod fisheries at Lofoten. Among the floats are day glow floats, porcupine quills and toby ale floats. An outstanding collection of May and dapping flies for trout, plus other varieties, superbly presented in a double sided wooden fly case of 4 large trays. Free postage. I am particularly interested in finding references to companies in Great Britain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France and Italy who produced or sold glass fishing floats, as well as history of family members, acquaintances, and other users of the floats.

The net was made from willow , and dates back to BC. In the U. The letters GB could very well mean "Glass Ball". I obtained it from Pereinar, who had found it in an old boathouse in Norway.
